Rashtriya Swabhiman Projects : Neem Ka Thaana

Neem Ka Thaana is a concept – a miniscule attempt towards shaping a model project for a sustainable self reliant society; which could eventually work as a blue print for other districts across the country to operate in and help emerge India as a developed nation by 2020.

The inception of this project began with Dr. Sahib Singh Verma’s decision to purchase 200 acres of barren land in the village Ranasar “Neem Ka Thaana” in Rajasthan after having surveyed more than 200 villages living below the poverty line in the near vicinity.

Under this project, we plan to employ one member from each of these families and equip them with required training for the job, with the support from like-minded people, corporate and institutions. We would also offer free education to their kids as a part of our main focus to bridge the two extreme sections – the rich and the poor divide - keeping in line with the basic foundation theory to help enable these people to live with dignity "Swabhiman".

This plan aims at providing an economic cushion by making possible an immediate source of income for the family and simultaneously equipping the generations to come, not only with basic school education, but the very need to be literate in the ever growing competitive world by offering an alternate route to grow beyond sustenance - towards prosperity.

As a part of this project, we have also offered the water supply to the Sirohi Village, the village adjacent to our project land that had no water supply from any source. Rashtriya Swabhiman provided for one borewell full of good quality water to Sirohi village by getting the pipeline done overnight from the government to the village.

Neem ka Thana is our endeavor to prove that a lot more can get done if one doesn’t care for the credits. No effort to uplift a society can operate in isolation; when you work for the betterment of the society as a whole, you need to raise the boundaries and borders.
